Author Bio

Doug Flanders (1967-) was born and raised in San Antonio, TX. He attended Dallas Baptist University, but after two years gave up a full scholarship to marry the love of his life, Jennifer (Cowan) Flanders (1965-), also an author (Love Your Husband/Love Yourself: Embracing God’s Purpose for Passion in Marriage). A year later they had their first child and Doug started medical school at UT Southwestern in Dallas. By the time Doug graduated, two more children had been added to the family, and Doug was voted “most likely to have a dozen kids” by his classmates. Not wanting to disappoint, he and Jennifer went on to have nine more! With twelve children and five grandsons around, the two writers have plenty of inspiration, but are typically short on time. In addition to his unique family situation, Doug draws on fifteen years in the Army Reserves and twenty-two years as a physician to craft his medical thrillers. “The Prodigy Project” is the first in a series of adventures featuring the rather large Gunderson family as they traverse the globe fighting bio-terrorism.

  1. Hello

Just wanted to say how awesome your blog on 25 ways to show you love your wife was.

I know it’s an old blog but it’s a huge blessing to read.

Great principle of looking outside of yourself and tending to the needs of others; and great practical application. Also I thought you handled the negative comments masterfully and gracefully.

    Thanks:)

    • Thanks for the encouragement. I’m always amazed that blogging about Love can generate so much Anger. The thing that helps me keep perspective is to remind myself that angry people are not enemies, but prisoners. They are held hostage by lies told to them their entire lives by family, friends, and society at large. My goal is not to fight them, but to free them by exposing them to the truth of God’s love.

  2. Hello! I also recently found the “25 ways…” lists for husbands and wives via a friend sharing on Facebook, and my husband and I were so thrilled with them! I have printed my list, but when I tried to click on the link to go to the printable list for my husband, it says it is no longer available. Is there any way I can get the printable one-page list again? Thank you so very much to you and your wife for sharing your lives, love, and work with others! ~Jodie Kilpatrick

    • So sorry about that, Jodie. Our family site was getting massive amounts of traffic last month and kept crashing, so we had it optimized, but a few of our links got fried in the process. Thanks for alerting us to the problem. I’ve fixed it now, so you should be able to click through and print both lists without any problem. (You’ll find the list for wives here and the one for husbands here, with an option to print either article in its entirety or as a one-page summary.) Blessings! Jennifer
